Loved Phillip?s old school teaching style. He gave us the science behind the perfect shot. Very knowledgeable yet extremely encouraging. He picked the perfect venue and reminded each of us why we love photography telling a story using aperture, shutter speed and ISO

I've always followed my heart and it's gotten me this far. I'm highly intuitive and draw inspiration from the world around me. I am involved in a variety of projects, all of which have somehow become a part of my ongoing creative life journey.
I love being a photographer because it allows me to capture the solace of the Ether, the harmonious balance of movement and stillness in a composed frame. Being a photographer allows me to show the world stillness in the fast movement of every day life through my lens.
As a photographer, I like to think of myself as a chaser of the sun. I'm always looking up into the sky looking for light, whether that is the sun, the moon, and the stars. Photography allows me to be closer to what has been considered the heavens.

    Available most Saturdays and Sundays.

My husband and I traveled to Tokyo in September for a wedding and vacation. This picture was taken while exploring one of the Shinto Temples in Tokyo. I wanted to get a picture of the Ema prayer plaques reflected off the Temizuya Water Pavilion, also known as a Ch&333zuya. I saw the woman approaching the exit as I was setting up my shot and just kept clicking as she came into view. It wasn?t a perfect shot and required some editing but I was happy with the results. When you first drive into Cades Cove, one of the first sights you come across is this meadow that their stable horses use for grazing. It showcases the beauty of the valley with the majestic Smoky Mountains as it's backdrop. On this day, the spring blossoms of the various trees added a splash of color along the tree line.

This photo was taken during the January 10th snow storm in rural Bedford County. My husband Gary and I were on another photo adventure and found ourselves unable to back up a slick lane while trying to get a good picture of this barn. We had to go forward to turn around to get out, but became stuck. I had to walk half a mile to find the address for the wrecker to pull us out. I took this picture while the wrecker pulled our car out. We were so blessed with the beauty that day.

I love exploring Toronto, where I've been living for a while now, with a camera, or more often just with a mobile phone. And looking for unusual angles. This place in the center of downtown on King Street always looks different depending on the weather, time of day, wind... This time I was shooting late in the evening and waiting for the flag to straighten out.Shot on a Samsung s21 mobile phone, edited in an editor Snapseed/

This shot was taken along with 3000 others images on my first ever photo shoot during Covid. I hired a model I had seen and had come to do pool shots with another Photographer and he suggested I hire her and conceptualize the shoot. I?m not a professional and had no props but I bought some fabric and I used my leaf blower to make that effect. I periodically go back to those pictures and rework them with my iPhone apps for varying effects. You can see more of my work on Instagram. That day creat

Thank you for considering my photo for Photo of the Week! I have a number of bottle brush trees in my back yard, and birds love the blossoms when they bloom in the Spring. I usually see numerous hummingbirds and sparrows, but I saw this gorgeous bird one afternoon resting in the branches. I was able to get a couple of shots off before it flew away.

This blossom was on a small Magnolia tree sheltered from the wind and weather on Bald Head Island. When I spied this blossom the sun light was beginning to illuminate the petals. Time time spent waiting for the pictorial moment gave me time to more deeply appreciate the beauty of this transient blossom. Taken with a Nikon D850, tripod, 70-200 in close distance. Single image-no stacking.
